Epistle to the Activists

Beloved siblings,

I call upon you today with a heavy heart, as the powers of this world move once again to strip civil rights and civil liberties from the most vulnerable among us — Women, Queerfolk, People of Color, and all who have long been the target of oppression.

Let us turn our hearts to Heavenly Mother and Heavenly Father, the Divine Parents who crafted us all in Their image — diverse, radiant, and worthy of dignity. Let us pray with fervor that Their protection will be upon the vulnerable. That Their Spirit will stir the hearts of those in power. That Their love will fortify those who suffer.

But hear me well, dear ones — prayer alone is not enough. Faith without works is meaningless (James 2:17). We cannot expect miracles from Heaven while doing nothing with our hands.

If you seek to follow the path of Christ — not the faux red, white, and blue Christ of empire and nationalism, but the Christ of liberation, the Christ of the poor, the Christ of the outcast, the genuine expression of Christ that knows no nationality or gender or ethnicity (Galatians 3:28) but sees in all of us Divinity (John 10:24) — then you must stand and make your voice heard.

Stand beside the oppressed.

Organize in your communities.

Call your lawmakers. Write letters. Demand justice.

Put your body between the oppressor and the oppressed if you are able.

I tell you this plainly: the Godhead will not measure our righteousness by our piety alone, but by the strength of our hands in the service of the least of these (Matthew 24:40-45). We are not called to passive hope — we are called to holy resistance.

And so I pray:

"O Mother, O Father, shield Your children. Give us the courage to fight and the wisdom to act, the strength to stand and the patient kindness to heal. Let not our hearts grow weary, nor our spirits dim. Kindle in us a fire of unrelenting love, that we may not only cry out for justice but make it so."

May we become not just the hands of God but the sword of deliverance in Their name.

And may those in the palaces and positions of power heed the words of Zechariah 7:9-10 ;

"“Thus says the Lord of hosts: Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another; do not oppress the widow, the orphan, the alien, or the poor; and do not devise evil in your hearts against one another."

And to the rest of us and to my fellow faithful, let us remember Hebrews 10:24-25; "And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching."

Amen, and amen.
